The subject of reciprocal agreements with the United Kingdom may be a touchy one, but the Manx Electricity Authority says its own deal is very welcome.
Chairman Quintin Gill says agreements with neighbouring countries mean the Island can rely on engineers to come and help should they be needed.
He was speaking after crews from the authority spent time in Northern Ireland helping to restore power, following storms there.
Mr Gill says the Island gets its fair share of help out of the bargain:
