Recent drop in ANPR checks on Island

Minister cites 'staffing difficulties' and 'budget issues'

There's been a drop in the use of automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) technology locally to track vehicle tax offences so far this year.

That's according to the Infrastructure Minister who says this is down to 'staffing difficulties' as a result of 'budget issues'.

But Chris Thomas insists the checks will still be carried out in a variety of different areas on the Isle of Man and not just certain locations to get around constraints.
