Island's parliament sits today with urgent matters to consider
The Dr Rosalind Ranson employment tribunal will be a dominating subject in Tynwald once again today when the Island's parliament comes together for its May sitting.
Health Minister Lawrie Hooper has been granted permission to make an urgent statement on the matter.
Afterwards, Chief Minister Alfred Cannan will move a 'motion of public importance' - setting the wheels in motion for an independent review into the management by the Isle of Man Government of the Ranson versus Department of Health and Social Care employment case.
Later in the sitting, members will decide whether or not to accept recommendations from a committee looking into oral health in the Island's children, which could include plans to investigate fluoridation of the Island's water supply.
The long-awaited Suicide Prevention Strategy is also to be laid - Douglas East MHK Joney Faragher will move that Tynwald endorses the plan, but admits the Action Plan within it cannot be completed with the departmental current budget constraints.
Today's Tynwald sitting gets underway at 10:30am.
