Developing Victoria Pier wouldn't stop further work in the future
The infrastructure minister insists developing Victoria Pier for small vessels wouldn't prevent Douglas harbour from hosting bigger ships in the future.
It comes after Douglas East MHK Chris Robertshaw expressed concern over an absence of plans to cater to larger passenger vessels at this morning's hearing of the Environment and Infrastructure Policy Review Committee, accusing the DoI of a lack of strategic thinking.
Ray Harmer says it's just one of a number of ideas being considered by the department.
He also claims progressing one idea wouldn't prevent further development at a later date:
