Ramsey PO decision a victory for the community

A victory for community.

That’s how a successful campaign to retain Ramsey’s crown post office in the town courthouse has been described.

Plans to transfer services from their current location to a sub post office in a Spar shop proved deeply unpopular in the town.

A protest march and various public meetings were held before a cooperative group was formed to prepare a 'sustainable community business model'.

Nigel Malpass, who was instrumental in setting up the organisation, says it’s very much a team effort.
