New plans for a hotel to replace the Grand Island in Ramsey are before planners.
Amended proposals were lodged just before Christmas for a 30-bed hotel with restaurant and bar next to Mooragh Park.
Originally the idea was that the new hotel would be up-and-running before the Grand Island closed - but trading conditions resulted in the northern landmark closing its doors early.
Ramsey MHK Anne Craine says the loss of the Grand Island a year ago was very sad, but there's progress now in replacing it.
