It will see posters and signs as well as a new town warden
Ramsey Commissioners is launching a campaign to encourage people to pick up dog poo.
Vice-Chair Sandra Cottam-Shea is urging people who see dog owners leaving mess to 'educate' those responsible and says a 'culture change' will be needed.
The local authority will be spending just over £1,000 on posters and signs, as well as hiring a new town warden to help combat the issue.
Mrs Cottam-Shea says the commissioners will not be reintroducing the dog specific bins to the town.
