Chair Sandra Cottam-Shea hopes it will encourage investment in other sites

Ramsey Commissioners says planning permission for its new social housing scheme is 'very welcome'.

It means, after more than five years, the local authority can develop the former Albert Road and Close Woirrey site into two blocks of flats.

The commissioners have more than 90 applicants on its waitlist and believe the new flats will 'serve a purpose' for the town.

Chair Sandra Cottam-Shea hopes the approval will encourage developers and building companies to invest in social and affordable housing projects.
