Authority had plans to install defibrillator there
Government has slapped a building preservation notice on a run down red phone box in Ramsey.
Commissioner Juan McGuinness says it's the most 'ridiculous thing' he's experienced as a local representative.
The authority had planned to work with Manx Telecom to house a defibrillator in the site.
But Mr McGuinness says the notice will make this much harder to achieve and he can't understand why the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture has done this:
Tynwald recently voted in favour of 'recognising the status of red phone boxes' while Manx Telecom consulted with the public on their future.
Government has been contacted for comment.
