Claims transport chiefs only approached late in the day
The Island’s director of public transport says an 11th hour request by Rally Isle of Man organisers could not be met – and ultimately led to the cancellation of one of today’s (Friday) stages.
Stage six of the event, which centred on Maughold, was pulled for health and safety reasons due to it clashing with the scheduled Manx Electric Railway service.
Ian Longworth says it’s unfortunate, but transport chiefs were only approached late in the day.
