Rain causes problems on roads

Morning sailing cancelled due to high winds

Heavy and prolonged rain has led problems on roads this morning (Fri 9th)

There's currently (7am) a road closure in place between Ballig Bridge to Cronk-y-Voddy due to flooding.

DOI workers are currently at the scene. The main Peel road around Ballacraine, which was closed earlier, is now open again.

However, there are large amounts of standing water and debris everywhere. . and drivers are being asked to take extreme care.

More rain is expected later in the day and this evening with high winds.

This morning's sailing of the Ben my Chree has been cancelled.
