Tributes paid by road-racing fraternity
A much-loved figure in the road-racing fraternity has died.
George McCann was known as the voice of Irish national motorcycling
He passed away following illness.
George was the commentator at Ramsey Hairpin for the 2002 and 2003 TT Races and renowned for his instantly recognisable voice and encyclopaedic knowledge of the sport.
Fellow commentator and close friend, Manx Radio's Chris Kinley who worked with George many times at different race meetings over the years, says he was "gutted" to hear of his death.
Mr McCann leaves a wife Liz and son Stuart.
