MHKs seek answers on defence exports, TT housing concerns, and long-standing environmental issues

This month’s Tynwald sitting is expected to cover a broad array of issues, as the question paper is published ahead of what may be a two-day sitting.

Among the topics being raised are debrief plans for TT 2025, the potential manufacture of fighter jet components for export to Israel, and ongoing concerns around the Island's coal tar disposal.

Four priority, or starred, questions will lead the session which is due to get underway at 10am.

These include queries from Onchan MHK Julie Edge on the Everall Inquiry into the care of young people, and from Arbory, Castletown and Malew MHK Tim Glover on post-event evaluations for TT 2025.

Other starred questions will address variations in the Sea Services Agreement and possible Met Office concerns regarding the proposed Earystane Windfarm site.

Douglas East MHK Joney Faragher is seeking clarity on whether any parts for military aircraft exported to Israel are being produced on the Island, while Jason Moorhouse is raising questions about whether homeless individuals were asked to pay rent during the TT period.

Additional topics include proposed responses to the so-called "coal tar challenge", the last use of the Island’s automated number plate recognition system, and a question from Ms Edge regarding the treatment of whistleblowers.

The final question on the paper comes from Douglas Central MHK Chris Thomas, who is requesting information on total capital investment in the Island’s Energy from Waste facility.
