Chief Minister respects Keys' vote
The leader of the Isle of Man Government admits defeat on the exclusion of the Legislative Council from the elections of future chief ministers.
The House of Keys yesterday voted 17 in favour, 4 against the Council of Minister's (amendment bill) 2016, which goes before Tynwald next year.
The legalisation then needs 17 signatures from members of the Court to enter force, meaning only the Keys can vote for the chief minister.
Despite voting against this, Howard Quayle says he respects the decision of the house, but believes it's better for the leader of government to have the support of the whole of Tynwald:
