QEII performs well in self-evaluation exercise

An external validation has concluded Queen Elizabeth II High School in Peel is 'a good school with outstanding features'.

QEII was the third secondary school on the Island to undergo a School Self Review and Evaluation (SSRE) external validation.

The process was carried out over two days earlier this year.

The validation team consisted of independent school improvement partner Sue Manning, head teacher of QEII Sue Moore, peer head teacher from Castle Rushen High School Andrew Cole and the Department of Education and Children's 11-19 education adviser Paul Craine.

The evaluation process concludes the school uses a good range of evidence about its performance to review each aspect of its work. There is also good collaboration at all levels of leadership and a collective accountability and responsibility for moving the school forward.

The validation team says the school knows itself well and has good capacity for further improvement.
