Pair's honesty sees savings returned
A father and son from Douglas have turned a potential crisis into a happy Christmas for an elderly Island resident.
Liam Doyle and his dad found a purse full of cash in Regent Street in the capital's shopping centre last week.
They took it straight to the police - who've praised the pair for their honesty.
Officers scanned through Douglas council's CCTV to capture an image of the woman who left it there.
That was shared among government agencies, and after several days the owner was traced and the purse and its contents returned.
She's said to be very happy and overwhelmed.
