Budget for project could rise to more than £80m
The Treasury Minister admits the public are likely to have questions about the increased cost of the Liverpool ferry terminal if government services have to be cut.
Alex Allinson had sought approval for a £10m contingency budget in Tynwald last month, but the vote was delayed until later this year.
If approved, the additional funds will mean the construction of the facility could cost in excess of £80m.
Having also warned some departments may need to scale back services to meet their budgets, Dr Allinson concedes some will raise concerns over the cost of the construction:
