
Members of the public will be invited to look round the old prison in Victoria Road, Douglas after the inmates have moved to the new facility in Jurby.
As Acting Prison Governor Colin Ring explains, it will be part of an exercise to show why the £41 million investment in new facilities was necessary (audio file attached):
The new prison was officially opened yesterday, by Home Affairs Minister Martyn Quayle.
