A Tynwald debate on the future of public service broadcasting in the Isle of Man has been postponed, after a proposal to shake-up the current funding model was put forward.
Speaker of the House of Keys Steve Rodan had asked the court to reaffirm its commitment to Manx Radio's subvention.
That's after a Treasury audit confirmed current levels of service could not be maintained unless government gave the support necessary.
He also asked Tynwald to consider what it wants from public service broadcasting in future.
However, directors of another radio station in the Island have put an alternative plan for publicly-funded radio to Treasury and the Departmnt of Economic Development.
The court voted to defer debate on the issues until December.
Chief Minister Allan Bell said in the current climate all options must be considered, while Middle MHK Howard Quayle insisted an independent reivew must be carried out into the new proposals.
