Thousands sign petition for g'vt to revoke cancellation of 12 June hol
A public petition has been created to reinstate the Senior Race Day bank holiday.
It follows government's announcement at yesterday's media briefing that there will be no bank holiday this year on 12 June because of the cancellation of the TT.
In the petition, the creator states he believes the decision should be revoked, and goes on to reference when the TT was similarly cancelled in 2001 due to Foot and Mouth disease, during which, the national holiday was still honoured.
More than 3500 people have signed the petition so far, less than 24 hours after its creation.
