The economic development department wants the public to nominate potential sites for its Dark Skies initiative.
It plans to market the Isle of Man as a top location for visitors keen to see stars and planets well away from light pollution - creating a niche tourism sector.
Seven sites in the Island have already won Dark Skies status from the Royal Observatory in Edinburgh, but another 15 are needed for the project to go ahead.
