Pub law change overdue says MHK

There's a real need to change the law with regard to offences on licensed premises.

So says, South Douglas MHK Bill Malarkey who heads up the government's Drug and Alcohol Strategy team.

The All-Island Pubwatch scheme which was launched yesterday (Monday) extends the court's powers so that anyone who is convicted of a serious offence could be banned from ALL licensed premises on the Island, including venues such as snooker halls and the Manx Legion Club.

Mr Malarkey believes the change is important.
