Bernadette Williams was elected as chair nine times whilst on the board
A member of Port St Mary Commissioners, who served on the board for 'many years', has retired.
Bernadette Williams has been awarded a Certificate of Achievement by Lieutenant Governor Sir John Lorimer for her contributions - which included being elected as chair on nine occasions.
Current Chair of the Commissioners Jean Teare said: "Her leadership, experience and dedication have made a lasting difference to Port St Mary and, on behalf of the board and staff, we thank her sincerely for her remarkable service and wish her a long, peaceful and happy retirement.”
The local authority says the certificate recognises Mrs Williams' dedication to public service and her 'valued contribution' to Port St Mary.
