Prospective MHKs asked to back 'Manifesto for Prosperity' 

Organisations collaborate on ideas for communities, economy and nature

Prospective politicians on the Isle of Man are being asked to consider the contents of a fresh manifesto.

Twelve Manx organisations have launched the ‘Manifesto for Prosperity’ just days before the General Election on 24 September.

It’s based on three pillars - communities, economy and nature - and is said to set out ‘specific, actionable solutions’ to some of the key challenges facing the Island.

The document is built around the Island’s status as the world’s first UNESCO biosphere nation.

The manifesto has been sent to the 82 candidates seeking election across the 12 constituencies.

They’ve been invited to endorse it alongside their own personal documentation.

Constituents are being asked to ask their local candidates if they support the ‘Manifesto for Prosperity’ in the run up to the vote.

The contributing organisations are: Manx Nature Alliance, Shuttleworth Botanic Garden, Farming for Wildlife Advisory Group, Friends of the Earth, Manx BirdLife, Manx Wildlife Trust, British Irish Trading Alliance, ESG Community of Practice, One World Centre, Peel Cathedral Isle of Man, ManxPACT, and other representatives.
