Extra qualifying session among possible alterations for this year
Organisers of the Southern 100 Road Races have unveiled the proposed schedule for this year's event.
The meeting from Monday, 6 July to Thursday, 9 July will run in a similar format to recent years but with plans for a few alterations.
Among the changes, there are ambitions to hold an extra qualifying session on Wednesday, 8 July.
Meanwhile, the two championships races on the final day (9 July) are to be switched with each other in the running order.
The opening day on Monday, 6 July will follow on from the same format of previous years with evening qualifying for all solo and sidecar classes with roads around the Billown Course to close at 6pm and reopen no later than 9.40pm.
The following evening on Tuesday, 7 July will feature another qualifying sessions for each class as well as first two races of the meeting - the seven-lap Peel Holdings Senior Race and six-lap Mike Kerruish Plumbing & Heating Lightweight Race.
Roads around the course are due again to shut at 6pm and reopen no later than 9.40pm on day two.
Meanwhile, officials are hoping to make an addition to the agenda on Wednesday, 8 July with proposals to run a morning qualifying session as well as the regular evening racing schedule.
If approved, the morning session would see roads around the course shut between 9.45am and 11.50am to allow further qualifying for Superbike; Supersport; Lightweight/Sportsbike and Sidecar machinery.
Roads would then reopen before shutting again at 6pm for four more races and open again for the final time that day no later than 9.40pm.
The meeting is then due to conclude with a double-header of racing in the morning and afternoon on Thursday, 9 July.
Four races would be held during the morning road closures between 9.30am and 12.45pm, roads would then reopen briefly before shutting again between 1.30pm and 4.45pm for the remaining four races.
During that afternoon session, there are plans to swap the order of the final two events, resulting in the eight-lap Daryl Blake Construction Sidecar Championship Race act as the penultimate showdown before the nine-lap Ellan Vannin Fuels Solo Championship acts as the finale to the meeting.
The proposed schedule remains subject to road closure approval and may be subject to change depending on prevailing conditions and circumstances.
