Proposals to create Island Campus unveiled

Idea put forward as part of new 15-year economic plan

Plans have been unveiled to develop an ‘Island Campus’ to attract students to study on the Isle of Man.

It’s one of the ideas put forward as part of a new 15-year economic strategy which aims to increase the number of economically active residents.

KPMG, which helped develop the strategy, claims the campus – which would be run in collaboration with UK universities – would create a ‘knowledge economy’.

The curriculum would be relevant to industry requirements and future employment trends and a larger student population, it’s claimed, would support more diverse leisure and hospitality facilities.
