Fake profiles duping people into sending cash for deposits
Police are investigating a property scam which is preying on Island residents and those in the Channel Islands.
So far officers have had three confirmed reports from residents here who were scammed into losing money by the same profile on Facebook.
The scam encourages them to send cash for a rental deposit.
Detective Inspector Gavin Callow says the scammers target the housing sector because they know how lucrative the industry is:
