Two-hour disc zone in operation
It's a sign Christmas must be getting really close: extra parking for shoppers on Douglas Promenade walkway has started on Saturday.
The stretch between the War Memorial and the Bottleneck car park is pressed into use each December and into the new year, creating several hundred extra parking spaces at the busiest time of year.
Last year, a pay-and-display system was installed and drivers charged.
This year, it's free disc parking for two hours.
The Department of Infrastructure says it's supporting the Manx economy, by encouraging residents to shop in the capital.
The area will be remain a parking zone until Sunday, 8 January, 2017.
