Project to be voted on as one scheme
Plans for a £21 million makeover of Douglas promenade will be voted on as one scheme in Tynwald.
That was confirmed on Tuesday night, after a motion asking members to be allowed to vote on separate aspects of the project was defeated.
Graham Cregeen had called for a breakdown of the various redevelopment proposals, including relocating the horse trams and guaranteeing financial support from Douglas Corporation.
There’s been a mixed response since proposals to change the face of the sea front were unveiled by the Department of Infrastructure last month.
The final plans are due to go before Tynwald this autumn.
