U-turn tabled five months after Tynwald vote
Plans to go back on Tynwald's decision to run the horse trams along the full length of the Promenade 'undermine the public's confidence in politicians'.
That's the belief of the secretary of the Manx Electric Railway Society.
Julian Nutter was responding to the latest Promenade redevelopment plans put forward by Infrastructure Minister Ray Harmer which recommend the renewal of twin horse tram tracks in the centre of the road but just between Broadway and Summerhill.
It's claimed there is no economic or operational benefit in running the tramway the full length of the prom.
Mr Nutter says Mr Harmer is going back on what Tynwald agreed before the General Election
