Island's biosphere status subject to scrutiny
One of the key players, who helped the Manx achieve Biosphere Status, has warned of a committee "with the keen eye of ferrets", keeping an eye on how the island nurtures that status.
In 2016, the Manx were formally accepted into the World Network of Biosphere Reserves by UNESCO. The initial period is for ten years.
It recognises the Island as a special place for people and nature, living side by side.
But Professor Peter Bridgewater, who has a home here, says checks are kept:
Traders on Michael Street feel 'abandoned' by politicians in tough times
Job Centre unable to reliably identify duplicate vacancies
Airport warns high winds could impact flights
Bus talks to continue over festive season
