It's difficult on the Island for criminal offenders to avoid contact with their victims, says Pat Ingram, director of community operations for the Prison and Probation Service.
She says their aim in helping ex-offenders re-integrate, is to ensure distance is kept between parties where possible.
Last week former Peel Commissioner Arran Kaighin was sentenced to ten months in prison for possessing indecent images of children.
He's been released after serving that time on remand.
Commenting on the wider work of the probation service, Ms Ingram says they try to prevent offenders settling in an area that's innappropriate in relation to their offence:
