Probation for man who threatened police

Corlett also ordered to pay prosecution costs

A Douglas man who threatened a police officer has been put on probation for 12 months.

26-year-old Josh Arthur Corlett, of High View Road, admitted the offence at a previous court appearance.

The court heard Corlett had become involved in an altercation on Nelson Street in Douglas on 20 November last year.

His advocate, Roger Kane, said his client had been taking new medication at the time, which may have caused problems with his judgement when combined with the alcohol Corlett had consumed that night, which was not excessive.

He said Corlett was making efforts to deal with his anger and mental health issues.

Deputy High Bailiff Jayne Hughes ordered Corlett to pay £125 prosecution costs, in addition to putting him on probation.
