High Bailiff urges 44-year-old to think about his behaviour towards officers
A Ronague man has been told to think about his behaviour towards the police after admitting assaulting an officer.
Edward Michael Lewin was given a 12-month probation order following an incident at his home in July last year.
The court heard the 44-year-old, who has issues with the police, had a panic attack after being approached by an officer.
He admitted his behaviour towards the officer was reckless after he attempted to get away in order to avoid a clash, pushing the officer away.
His advocate said Lewin suffers from severe anxiety and has mental health issues.
High Bailiff Jayne Hughes told Lewin he needs to engage with support services, urging him to think about his behaviour towards police officers.
As well as being sentenced to probation, Lewin will have to pay £100 compensation to the officer and £200 in costs.
