Prison term for driver who caused death of teenager
An Onchan man is starting life behind bars tonight (Friday) after causing the death of a teenager by dangerous driving.
Brad Campbell was killed when the Renault Clio in which he was a passenger crashed at high speed in Foxdale last August.
A short time ago, 18 year old Brandon Gowland – who admitted the charge - was sentenced to three years and nine months in prison for the incident.
An extra year in prison, which will run concurrently, was also imposed for causing serious injury by dangerous driving to another passenger in the car.
It was described by the senior investigating officer as the worst road traffic collision scene he’d dealt with in 25 years.
Gowland has also been disqualified from driving for a period of 7 years.
