The Agriculture Minister is warning of a rise in the price of food in the coming years.
It follows a six per cent increase in the cost of a pint of milk, up three pence to 53 pence a pint.
An advisory committee comprising government, consumer and dairy industry figures made the recommendation, although the Manx National Farmers Union says it's not enough.
