Chris Thomas took up post in cabinet reshuffle earlier this week
The Isle of Man's newly-appointed treasury minister believes there could be 'some pretty significant moments' government will have to consider in the coming months.
Chris Thomas took up the post this week following the dismissal of predecessor, Dr Alex Allinson as part of a cabinet reshuffle by Chief Minister, Alfred Cannan on Monday (19 January).
The changes come just a few weeks before the expected unveiling of the next Manx budget in February and, more broadly, a general election on the horizon in September this year.
In the eight months or so until that, Mr Thomas believes there is a chance government can make a difference in that short time span, and thinks there are some key issues that stand out:
DoI 'committed' to reaching agreement with bus drivers
Fluoride varnish programme rolled out in Island schools in bid to reduce levels of tooth decay in children
Tynwald 'in a good place' for gender balance compared to other jurisdictions
