Siblings celebrate after winning UK accolade

Two Manx dairy farmer siblings are celebrating after winning a prestigious UK award.

Brothers David and Robert Cooil, who farm in the south of the Island, were presented with the Farming and Wildlife Advisory Group's 'Silver Lapwing Farming for Nature Award' at a ceremony in North Wales on Tuesday.

Their latest accolade comes hot on the heels of success in FWAG's Chough Award earlier this year.

The Silver Lapwing Award recognises the brothers' efforts to support wildlife and nature on their journey to regenerative farming methods.

Local Farming and Advisory Group chairman Paul Fletcher says the award is a fitting tribute to David and Robert's work and a huge honour for the Isle of Man.

The FWAG awards cover all of England and Wales and the Island's participation followed seven years of negotiation with the UK body.

You can find the full interview about the award here.
