Tynwald paid tribute to Richard Leventhorpe at the start of today's sitting.
Mr Leventhorpe passed away at the age of 80 earlier this month while on holiday in France.
He moved to the Island in 1982 and was elected to the House of Keys in 1986, representing Onchan until 1991.
President of Tynwald Noel Cringle led the tribute and said Mr Leventhorpe had an active life on the Island outside of Manx politics (audio file attached):
