The awarding of the Tynwald Honour in the Royal Chapel brought the formal proceedings at St John's to a close.
The prestigious award has been bestowed on Castletown businessman and community stalwart Ian Qualtrough.
The 83 year-old is the third recipient of Tynwald's highest honour.
It goes to someone who has shown selfless commitment to improving the quality of life for the community, outside the realms of politics.
