MHK predicts further austerity
An MHK has lodged his concerns over a planned rise in prescription fees - but is warning similar levies are on the way.
A consultation on the controversial proposals has now ended, with the responses due before Tynwald in the coming months.
North Douglas MHK David Ashford will this week ask the Health Minister a number of questions on the plans, including exactly how much she expects to save by increasing contributions and cutting exemptions.
But Mr Ashford - who co-ordinated a recent Treasury scheme on cost-cutting - claims prescriptions may only be the first in a long line of cuts:
