DHSC no closer to final decision
Plans to increase prescription charges for Manx patients are no closer to being finalised.
Health Minister Kate Beecroft told the House of Keys this morning that responses to a public consultation will be published by the end of the year - but in the meantime she's keeping an 'open mind' about the cost-saving exercise.
Outlined are a rise in the standard contributions for prescriptions to £5 per item, as well as a stop to exemptions for pregnant women and some pensioners.
North Douglas MHK David Ashford is seeking clarity over the proposals - Mrs Beecroft says views are still being considered:
