Noble's staff receive training on sexual violence
Manx healthcare professionals have been receiving education on tackling the problem of Female Genital Mutilation.
The practice, which is common in parts of Africa and the Middle East, involves cutting girls and young women's reproductive organs in order to limit their sexual liberty.
Almost 150,000 women are living with the serious consequences in the UK; in addition to an estimated 130 million at risk worldwide.
Nurses, doctors and staff received a talk on spotting the signs, and providing support for FGM victims, at Noble's Hospital last week.
It was conducted by the UK charity AFRUCA - its Director Debbie Ariyo led the sessions:
