Aims to have delivery fleet with zero-tailpipe emissions by 2028
The Isle of Man Post Office has purchased 13 new electric vehicles to add to its fleet.
It's part of the company's plan to transition to a delivery fleet with zero-tailpipe emissions by 2028.
Customers will see the traditional red diesel vehicles replaced with electric vehicles over the next few years.
The post office is also aiming to reduce emissions in buildings, distribution networks, and material usage.
Chief Executive and Chair of the Environmental Sustainability Committee Simon Kneen said: "As the Island’s trusted delivery partner we are proud to be transitioning to a fully electric delivery fleet as we continue on our journey towards a greener and more sustainable future.
"Last year our fleet generated 74 percent of the emissions we generate directly.
"Our commitment to a delivery fleet with zero tailpipe emissions by 2028 is a cornerstone of our strategy to lead by example in the fight against climate change."
