
The Chief Minister says a three month delay to plans to relocate the Island’s main post offices doesn't change the fundamental issues facing the company.
This week, Communication Workers Union head Terry Pullinger, welcomed the decision to defer moving the main offices in Douglas and Ramsey into nearby Spar shops.
After a public outcry and emergency debate in the House of Keys, the Post Office is now consulting with staff and local authorities, to consider other options.
Allan Bell says while he too is encouraged by developments, the post office still has to make substantial savings to avoid going into deficit over the next few years:
