Tynwald vote on boundary extension delayed
A local authority in the south of the Island says it's shocked and surprised by Rushen Parish Commissioners' application to extend its boundary.
Port Erin Commissioners previously sought to take control of the entire Ballakilley Estate, but faced opposition from neighbouring Rushen.
Tynwald had been due to vote on extending the Port Erin boundary at this month's sitting, but the matter was withdrawn following Rushen's application for its own boundary extension.
The board has expressed its shock at the timing, adding that it will await a discussion with the Department of Infrastructure.
The estate is currently divided between the two authorities.
