1/4 of surveyed five-year-olds have issues
Poor oral health remains a ‘significant public health concern’ on the Isle of Man.
New data from a epidemiology survey of five year-olds shows more than a quarter examined here are experiencing decayed, missing or filled teeth.
It’s higher than the UK average.
The Children’s Oral Health Report, which was published this month, also highlights inequalities in toothbrushing habits and difficulty accessing dentists.
Public Health says every child should have the opportunity to grow up free of tooth decay adding preventative advice and interventions are essential.
