New export deal with North America
Rare black limestone, quarried in the south of the Island at Pooil Vaaish will be exported for use in projects across North America.
It follows a partnership between the Manx company and Cumbria based Burlington Stone which will export and market the material in the United States.
As part of a reciprocal arrangement Pooil Vaaish will supply Westmoreland green and Blue Black roofing slate to the local market.
Managing director Rosie Glassey says access to the new market is an exciting development for the company although the quantities will be modest:
