Politicians should 'set an example' over pay

There is another call for politicians in the Isle of Man to take a pay cut, as the government tries to save £30 million from its annual staffing budgets.

Last week, Chief Minister Tony Brown said he was aiming to reduce staffing costs by as much as ten per cent, although he added he was hopeful that wouldn't mean job losses.

President of the Trades Union Council on the Island Angela Moffatt says recent comments by Agriculture Minister Phil Gawne about MHKs taking pay cuts would set a good example of leading from the front.
