Seek to assure people of priorities
Three political members from the Department of Health and Social Care have responded to comments made by the recently ousted minister.
As we previously reported, Rob Callister MHK hit out against his departmental members in an open letter penned to the chief minister just a day before he was sacked.
In it, he says he feels he went into the role with 'one hand tied behind [his] back'.
In response, Dr Michelle Haywood MHK, Joney Faragher MHK and Tanya August-Hanson MLC have released a short statement to Manx Radio.
They said: "Given the comments about our role in this unfortunate situation, we firstly want to observe that we play no part in hiring and firing. Secondly, we’d like to assure people that our priority is to deliver the best we can for the public, and the staff at DHSC, and to continue to work positively and productively with the current Minister."
